So for this blog I’m going to be talking about moments that made sports legends. By the way, the only sports I’m going to be following are American football, basketball, baseball, football, and boxing. If your favorite sport isn’t on here, I'm sorry these are sports that are the ones I watch personally but let's get to the stories!
American Football: Tom Brady’s combine
Some might know him as the GOAT( greatest of all time ) of American football, but his NFL(National Football League) combine said otherwise. He had one of the worst in NFL history. His 40 yard dash was 5.28 seconds, which if you're wondering, is horrible. His vertical was even worse at 24.5 inches, which might sound pretty good, but for NFL athletes that’s not good. His 20 yard shuttle was 4.38 seconds. Also combine scouts said “ He has a lack of arm talent and lack of speed. ”Only if they knew what he was going to become.
Basketball: Michael Jordan’s fever
In 1995 game 5 of the NBA finals the Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan had the iconic flu game, and he played like his life depending on it. According to some of his coaches “His temperature was over 100” and he still played. I don’t think anyone would play if their temperature was over, 100 but Michael did it. His stats were amazing! He scored 38 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists , the game winning three pointer to make the Bulls lead 3-2. They won the series in the next game where Michael did it again with a buzzer beater with 0.3 seconds left on the clock to win.
Baseball: The Boston Red Sox 2004 comeback
The 2004 season where the year prior the Boston Red Sox sadly lost to their greatest rival. The New York Yankees beat them in the AL championship game. It seemed like the Red Sox would never win another World Series again, and people thought that the team got cursed because Babe Ruth, MLB legend, got traded to the Yankees. They never won again until 2004 where David Ortiz and Pedro Martines locked in winning after winning and won the world Series.
Boxing: Muhammad Ali Iconic knock out
On May, 25, 1965 Muhammad Ali had his iconic fight against Sonny Liston. His even more iconic photo was taken of him where Muhammad hit him with a big right hook to take down Sonny Liston.
I hoped you enjoyed learning about these stories.
