Boston Typewriter Orchestra by #jakeagent18

This week, my mom told me about the Boston Typewriter Orchestra. I googled more about it, and I found out it used to be only one person. His wife bought him a typewriter, and they went to a restaurant. He started making beats with it. About a year later, he created something called the  Boston Typewriter Orchestra. It got so popular, people wanted to join it, and make it really a thing. The BTO was born on October 20, 2004, and they are still performing in shows today.

When they are not performing, there is a festival going on. They have an article, here's what the first paragraph says. “Last year, we were invited to the inaugural take at a Typewriter Arts Festival, with a type-in, typing poets, typewriter displays, and both a film and a documentary about typewriters being shown on a Drive-In screen at the north edge of the Catskills. We had a blast, and this year they are expanding to two days across this beautiful expanse at Drive-In 32 in Greenville NY for QWERTY: The Second Annual Festival of Type and the Letter Arts.” Would any of you want to go there?

FLINT FARM vs ORANGE LEAF by #emmaagent5and#maddieagent2

If you have not ever been to Flint Farm, I will tell you about it. It is a farm that sells mulch, Christmas trees, wood, ice cream and more.

     Now we will tell you about Orange Leaf. It is a place that sells frozen yogurt. They have tons of toppings and sauces that you can put on your frozen yogurt.

     We love both of those places. They are both good places to go when it is warm outside. We were not sure what others would say. We took a survey. We asked five people, and they all said Flint Farm was better.

     Some comments we got about Orange Leaf was that it is only frozen yogurt. It cost a lot more money. You get to make it your self. They also have more toppings.

   The comment we received about Flint Farm was that they have only eight toppings. They have forty eight flavors to choose from. They sell sherbert, ice cream, freezes/drinks and frozen yogurt, even though they might not have as many flavors to choose from.

We think Orange Leaf could be better because it has more flavors, and there are more of them in the world unlike Flint Farm.

We also love Flint Farm because of all of the out door seating and all of their farming. But we still like Orange Leaf better.

They also have a ton of toppings.

A few things they have in common is: they need more seating, they are convenient, and they are super popular. A difference is that Orange Leaf is a chain restaurant, while there is only one of Flint Farm.. Another difference is that Orange Leaf is fro yo and Flint Farm is ice cream. Orange Leaf froyo is also made from an edible powder, and Flint Farm’s ice cream is real ice cream that they get from a different place.

     

My Arrival by #williamagent7

Welcome to my fourteenth blog! I will be talking about my arrival back from Thailand! I miss Thailand, and I want to go back. We are going back in three years! We are still getting used to the time difference, so we end up going to bed pretty early. The flights from Thailand to America took a very long time, but we were entertained on the planes! We got back very late at night and did not get a lot of sleep. We managed to go to school the next morning. Thank you for reading my fourteenth blog!

Our Inventor’s Fair by #alexisagent13

What is our Inventor’s Fair? What do you do in the Inventor’s Fair? Ask no further! In this blog, you will learn all about what the Inventor’s Fair is and what the process is.

For the fair, each student needed to invent something either by themselves or with a partner. I am doing it by myself, and I am inventing a soccer net that rolls the ball back to you.

My dad is helping me build it, because some of the parts required tools I don’t know the name of and can’t use. This project is really fun and exciting, but it can be stressful at times. I encountered many, many problems with measurements and all that stuff. So, let me give you a tip. DO NOT procrastinate!

I think this project is really getting students’ brain’s thinking. It introduced a new door to students who may want to be an engineer or inventor of some sort, because working out flaws and blocks in your design is thinking like a real engineer(or inventor).

I am very impressed with all the inventions being made. They are all very creative and resurface many issues I’ve had before that I didn’t think of when I was trying to figure out what predicaments I was going to solve with an invention.

The process with building each invention goes like this:

1. Get a patent application
2. Do a planning page
3. An original sketch of your invention
4. Research on your invention
5. Bibliography
6. Materials Page
7. Explaining the steps you used to build your model
8. Graphs and Data
9. Final detailed drawing of your invention
10. Abstract (it’s when you tell things like the hypothesis, problem, etc.)
11. Backboard and Model
12. Then it’s time for The Inventor’s Fair!

Dude Perfect is a tv show/youtube channel that does all kinds of trickshots and battles. In Dude Perfect there are five members. The members are Tyler, Cody, Cory, Coby and Garrett. Dude Perfect used to be a small Youtube channel but now they are famous and have tv show. Sometimes Dude Perfect does videos with famous players like Odell Beckham JR, Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Chris Paul, and other people too!

SOWA and Eataly by #jakeagent18

Last weekend, I went to Boston with my family. First we went to SOWA. It is an open market, and they sell all kinds of things there. They even have food trucks. It was a little early for lunch, so we tried some donuts from Blackbird Donuts. After, we went to this place called Eataly. EAT + ITALY!  It had a lot of food to choose from, and a few little restaurants inside the shopping area. There were different food sections, like cheese, meat, fish, and a lot more. We watched them make fresh mozzarella and pasta! At the restaurant, we got pizzas and salads. After we were done eating, we walked around for  a little while, looking for things to buy. We almost went up to the Skywalk at the top of the Prudential, but we decided to try that another time.  

Their tagline is : “Discover the taste of Italy. Eat better, live better.”

Hello it’s Agent 6 reporting for duty.Today my friend Agent 15 and I are going to be talking about The Hunger Games.

First we will tell you what the Hunger Games are. The Hunger Games are an event that happens annually. In the event all twelve districts must send one boy and one girl to battle to death. The winner gets money, a new home, and honor. Well we just think that whole Hunger Games concept is cruel, but it has an amazing storyline.

Did you know that each district has to send a certain product to the Capital? We will tell you what each district supplies the Capitol.

• District 1: Luxury, District 1 makes luxurious items for the Capitol.
• District 2: Stonework, District 2 supplies stone for the Capitol.
• District 3: Technology, District 3 supplies electronic gadgets for the capital
• District 4: Fishing, District 4 supplies the Capital with seafood
• District 5: Power, District 5 supplies the Capitol with electricity.
• District 6: Transportation, District 6 makes vehicles for the Capitol.
• District 7: Lumber, District 7 supplies wood for the Capitol.
• District 8: Weaving, District 8 supplies the Capitol with clothes.
• District 9: Grain, District 9 supplies the Capital with plants like wheat.
• District 10: Livestock, District 10 supplies the Capitol with meat.
• District 11: Agriculture, District 11 supplies the Capital with crops.
• District 12: Coal, District 12 supplies the Capitol with coal
• District 13: Lead, District 13 used to supply the Capital with lead until the Capital destroyed it because District 13 didn’t contribute tributes for the Hunger Games. So the Capitol and District 13 went into a nuclear war!

The MAIN character in the book is Katniss Everdeen. How did Katniss get in The Hunger Games you ask? Well it was right before the reaping and Primrose Everdeen, Katniss’s little sister, gets picked! She went over to Prim and she said, “It’s okay you're name was only put in once.”

“ I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute,” said Katniss, and that is the story. Katniss is a strong girl who hunts illegally in the woods. When she volunteers she seems shocked that she said that, but then gets serious about it. When she was in the Capitol she realized that she made a promise to Prim that she would win. Will that promise promise be kept………….

There was a big secret that Katniss started a rebellion and… read the book or watch the movies to learn more. I didn’t want to spoil it. Peace out!

Blue Bunny Blog by #jakeagent9

Tuesday: I had so much fun at Jake’s house. Well not the part when I was watching him do his homework. I saw his brother’s soccer practice, and he did well. Tomorrow I will get to see his basketball practice I can’t wait!

Wednesday: I got to see Jake’s basketball practice, and he did great! I got to see him make a YouTube video with a lot of water balloons. I even rode his lawn mower.

Thursday: I can’t wait for tomorrow when we get to walk to school! That's all I can think about. I saw them play outside eating rootbeer floats. Lastly I heard news his neighbor Matthew is sleeping over.

Celtics Vs. Wizards Who Will Win? By #shawnagent10

I know that most of you know that the Celtics are playing the Washington Wizards, and it was exciting game yesterday. Who do you think will win the next game? I think the Celtics should win because they're the top team in our division, and the Wizards are only pretty well. First of all  the Celtics made an amazing comeback yesterday. We were losing sixteen to nothing, and then in the second quarter they made an amazing revival. If we can keep that up we should win this series.

A couple things that could work on are: rebounding, not fouling to much, and not shooting to many three pointers. The Wizards got 55 rebounds and the Celtics only had 44. We had 25 fouls on the Wizards. We scored a little less than half of our three pointers, which is only 19-39 of our three point shots.

Somethings the Celtics did right are: steal the ball, got a lot of assists, and fast break points. We stole the ball two more times than they did. We had 32 assists and the Wizards had 27. We had 13 fast point breaks.

Who do you think will win the series?  I think it will be the Celtics in 6!

Rock Revolution By #ZoeAgent1

       This week I am doing my blog on school this week. In school we started a social studies project, and it is really fun so far. We are going to learn about the Revolutionary War and eventually we will be turning it into a musical Hamilton-Style. Different groups are doing different parts of the American Revolution. #JakeAgent18, #WilliamAgent7, #MarissaAgent12 and I are going to be acting out how the U.S. Constitution came to be. We’re hoping to add music and acting into our scene, I am so excited to perform it!! Our teacher said that we could bring in props but are not required to put on costumes (unless we want to.) Lakota by #anothonyagent11

This week I am blogging about one of my dogs Lakota. She is a Siberian Husky, and she is probably my favorite of the. Sshhh. She is brown/red and white. She is not the most behaved dog, but I love her anyway. Right now she is 8 years old. She is great to do stuff with like go camping, hiking, keeping you warm, and using her as a pillow. The reason I like her the tiniest bit more than my other dog Hagrid because she isn’t as lazy as him. She is really funny too. She has the weirdest bark. Most dogs go wuff or ruff, but she goes roooooo. She gets so jealous. It’s crazy. If you just call my other dog’s name she’ll get mad. I’ve so many good memories with her. It’s hard to say one. I just know that most of them were while we were camping. So that’s just about what I have to say about Lakota.

My father's name is David. He has two kids.

My dad has lived in the town I live in his whole life. He went to my schools and played on the football team. He was #24 when he was in 8th grade. Then as he got older he was #33. He also played for the Hornets’ baseball team #6. He played football until college ended. He went to Curry College.

    His job now is self employed. He remodels houses. He  paints people houses and works on ours.  Before my dad    went to college he worked for the union. He and my     grandparents were from Italy, and we have a lot of family there. I have cousins there and long distance cousins. Now some facts about my dad.  

• His favorite sports to play are golf, football, and tennis
• He yells on the top of his lounges when the patriots win/get a touchdown.
• His favorite kids’ show to watch is Sponge Bob.
• And finally his favorite dogs are Germans Shepherds and Labs.

I love The Stanley Cup playoffs! The game means so much to me and I have true passion for the Pens. I feel like I’m as happy as them when they cup, and I’m just sitting on the couch watching it happen. When they won the cup last year, I almost cried, I love hockey and everything about it.

My First Bruins Game by #stellaagent8

Hey people! This is Agent 8 reporting back to you with one of my best experiences! I went to see the Boston Bruins! I saw my first Bruins game with my dad, and I didn’t know until maybe an hour and a half before we got to TD Garden! It was a complete surprise. I was coincidentally talking to my parents about having never been to a Bruins game! They had already had the tickets when I was telling them!

Anyway, enough about the surprise. Let’s talk about my experience. First of all, my first game just happened to be Game 4 of the Boston - Ottawa playoff series! My first game was a playoff game! And, I admit, I definitely went overboard with the Sprite and popcorn, but who can you blame. It was the playoffs!

When we were finding our seats, we were walking by the openings to the seats, and that was my first time actually seeing the ice in person! I was so excited! I had bite my rally towel to keep me from screaming! Just seeing the intense action of each and every play really excited me. The whole experience was so awesome! There were definitely a few, very VOCAL fans sitting near us that just a little too aggressive towards the refs.

Even though the Bruins suffered a loss of 1-0 against the Senators, I loved it there! The fans were awesome, and I got a lot of fist bumps before the game. Just being at TD Garden would have pleased me, let alone actually watch a game there! I loved it there, and I definitely want to go again to see a win! Agent 8… OUT!
